PSG Begin New Era with Focus on Youth After Mbappe Departure

The French champions embrace a new philosophy centered on developing young talent.

Paris Saint-Germain have signaled a dramatic shift in strategy following Kylian Mbappe's departure, with the club announcing a renewed focus on youth development and sustainable growth.

The French champions have promoted six players from their academy to the first-team squad and appointed former youth coach Julien Fournier as assistant manager with specific responsibility for integrating young talent.

New sporting director Luis Campos outlined the vision: "We are building something special at PSG. The days of relying solely on expensive signings are behind us. We want to create a legacy of excellence through our academy."

The club has invested 50 million euros in upgrading their training facilities at the Camp des Loges, including new pitches, medical facilities, and accommodation for academy players.

Early signs have been encouraging. Eighteen-year-old midfielder Warren Zaire-Emery has become a regular starter, while fellow teenager Senny Mayulu has impressed in cup competitions.

Manager Luis Enrique has embraced the new approach: "Young players bring energy and enthusiasm. They are not afraid to try things. This is exactly what we need to compete at the highest level while building for the future."

PSG remain top of Ligue 1 despite the changes, suggesting the new philosophy can deliver immediate results alongside long-term benefits.
